This year on Friday August 7, everybody in Australia is encouraged to put on the denims and make a donation to support of Jeans for Genes Day to support ongoing research into genetic childhood diseases.

It is easy to get involved just wear jeans AND make a donation because the cause is so important. This fun-loving fundraising event supports the Children s Medical Research Institute s (CMRI) who, for 50 years, has been finding answers that lead to a better knowledge about how diseases and disorders and how they start. With this kind of knowledge improved treatments or preventions may develop.

Each year Jeans for Genes offers goodies to make your jeans even more fashionable a DNA double helix brooch for example, or a fun Jeans for Genes t-shirt.

All monies raised go to the Children s Medical Research Institute whose work is devoted to trying to understand, prevent and develop better treatments for children s genetic diseases such as cancers or epilepsy.
