How did it feel to hear your song played all over the airwaves? Wow, it's totally exciting and awesome to know that you are reaching people with your music. It's really cool!
Did you have any preconceived ideas about the music industry? Not really! I've been in the entertainment business for a long time now so I knew what to expect.
Do you write your own songs? What's your inspiration? I am currently writing with many talented writers in Nashville. I am a big part of each and every one of my songs. Ideas, faith and experiences are the inspirations for my songs.
What music/artists do you listen to when you are not playing your own? In my CD player right now I have Michelle Branch, Mandy Moore, Across the Sky, Detour 180, MercyMe, and Evanescence.
What's next? Tour/Album/Single? Well, right now there is a lot going on. I have a spring mall tour planned with Across the Sky as well as other dates all over the country. My full-length debut album is expected to be released in 2004! I'm totally excited!
Was there a moment you contemplated throwing in the towel? Never, I have always felt really confident that this is what I am supposed to be doing.
Do you prefer performing live or recording? I love both so much! But I would have to say performing live. There is such a natural high that comes along with performing. It's so much fun!!!
What/who was your inspiration to go into the music industry? For me, my inspiration was realizing that I could use the talent that God had blessed me with to touch many hearts and have a great impact on many peoples lives.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced along the way to your musical success? I am still at the very beginning of my career, so I really haven't had to face any big challenges yet. I think it helps that I've really been honest and open about who I am to people, through my music and performance.
What's a typical day like? Well, when I'm away no day is typical. Every day is always jam-packed with things to do, from writing to recording to performing. When I'm in town a typical day starts with online school, exercising, doing interviews such as this one and then practicing voice and guitar!
What has been your favorite part of becoming a music artist? I have really been having the time of my life. Everything has been so awesome and I am just soaking in as much as I can from every experience. I think my favorite part is building relationships with people that will last forever.
If you could collaborate with another artist, who would it be? Michelle Branch! What a sweet girl! She has a flawless voice and is an awesome writer!
Are you single? What do you look for in a partner? Yup, currently single. I look for a guy that has the same beliefs as I do, someone that I could have fun with, someone that shares common interests and one that supports me and my career.
