Imagine a night with one of the most glamorous women in history, spectacular entertainment and a nine-course menu designed by one of Italy's finest chefs.
The exclusive La Dolce Italia Gala with Sophia Loren on Saturday April 18, at Crown Palladium, is being held to support The Alannah and Madeline Foundation - a national charity keeping children safe from violence and bullying.
Eventcepts director Connie Paglianiti said Ms Loren, who shot to international fame after winning an Academy Award for Best Actress in 1962, was the perfect guest of honour for the event.
'Ms Loren is not only one of the most beautiful women in the world, she's also an adoring mother and grandmother who has a lifelong love of children and we are so honoured to have her here as our special guest," she said.
Australian music icons John (Swanee) Swan, John St Peeters, Marty Rhone and Ray Burgess will perform their song 'Legends of the Southern Land". The performance will also feature an appearance from guitar virtuoso Tommy Emmanuel, on the big screen from overseas.
Italian artist Franky (Francesca Giaccari) and Aboriginal music and dance group featuring Phil Walley-Stack will take to the stage, as well as Aria Award winner Gary Pinto, and The Voice finalist Elly Oh with her tribute to Luciano Pavarotti.
These accomplished artists will be seated at tables among the guests.
Enjoy award-winning Italian chef Enza Liberati's menu and make a real difference in the lives of Australian children, by purchasing tickets at www.ladolceitalia.com.au.
The event is part of the April 2015 La Dolce Italia program, to preview the La Dolce Italia Festival in November. The festival is a week-long celebration of all things Italian, at Flemington Showgrounds.
Staged by Eventcepts, the event will feature seven nights of entertainment and a three-day exhibition of gourmet and designer delights, including the delicious foods, fashion and culture that make Italy special.
All proceeds from the gala will go to The Alannah and Madeline Foundation.
