Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) unveiled a swathe of new additions to the company's range of YOGA multimode devices, ushering in the next phase of its Consumer market push in Australia.
The new product range which included Lenovo YOGA Tablet 2, YOGA Tablet 2 Pro, and YOGA 3 Pro were all launched as part of a global launch event held in London, UK overnight.
In October last year, Lenovo released the YOGA Tablet range into the Australian market which redefined the tablet experience through its multimode feature capable of adapting to the content consumption preferences of individual users . The company has since introduced a number of YOGA consumer devices, including the YOGA 2 Pro convertible Ultrabook, expanding the brand's consumer range locally.
'The Lenovo YOGA range is unique as we have developed the products based on consumer feedback and research to create devices that provide them with a better way of computing," said Brendan Lau, Consumer Director, Lenovo Australia and New Zealand. 'Continuing our design innovation we are launching the 13.3 inch YOGA Tablet 2 Pro, Lenovo's first tablet that features a built-in projector, which will provide a new form of portable media experience," he said.
'We are also introducing the YOGA 3 Pro which is a powerful 13.3 inch convertible premium computing device in a compact and stylish new design, featuring an incredibly thin and light frame with a new watchband hinge design," he said.
'We're thrilled to be continuing our push into the Australian Consumer space where we have seen strong interest around our existing consumer range," said Matt Codrington, Managing Director, Lenovo Australia and New Zealand. 'The launch of the new YOGA devices reaffirms Lenovo's commitment to PC plus and we will continue to offer a wide variety of innovative products to consumers."
Alongside the new range of YOGA products, Lenovo is further expanding its range of Consumer notebooks, tablets and AIO devices, which will be available via both Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi this October, with partners set to announce pricing this month.
The product launch is part of the wider global marketing campaign which Lenovo kicked off last year with Ashton Kutcher, the company's star Product Engineer.
'Working with Ashton in his role as Lenovo Product Engineer to design the new Yoga range was a great collaboration and creating a Marketing Campaign featuring him was a lot of fun," said Nick Reynolds, Chief Marketing Officer, Lenovo Asia Pacific Mature Markets."
Ashton is a great guy and is well-known in Australia, so working with him will help lift Lenovo's brand awareness. Our goal is to become a household name in Australia – so lookout for Lenovo & AK online, in media and in-store soon.
