Mango Mess-tival to hit Bondi

North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club (NBSL) will be buzzing with juicy mango madness, and sticky hands at the annual Mango Mess-tival on Sunday December 3.Marking the peak of the Australianmango season and now in its sixth year, Mess-tival and NBSL is inviting its nippers and local mango lovers to celebrate Australia's favourite summer fruit, while helping fundraise for the club.

Mango Mess-tival is full of fun and messy activities for everyone to enjoy, including a bike-powered smoothie machine and the famous fruit carver creating his intricate and innovative mango carvings. The public will be able to watch nippers compete in mango-based challenges, such as relay races and also take on the nippers in the most delicious competition Australia has to offer –mango eating!

Spreading the love from across Australia, mango growers will also be getting involved by donating trays of various mango varietiesincluding Kensington Pride, R2E2, Calypso and Honey Goldfor attendees to sample.  No Aussie festival is complete without a barbeque, and Mess-tival isn't disappointing, with plenty of barbecued mango cheeks on offer.

Graeme Yardy, Marketing Lead from the research, development and marketing organisation, Hort Innovation, said the not-for-profit is very pleased to be supporting the initiative on behalf of growers.  'Synonymous with Aussie summers, mangoes are an icon," he said.  'This year, Aussie Mangoes is celebrating -200 Days of Mangoes', sharing the endlesspossibilities they bring throughout the 200 days of everyone's favourite season."

'They're an intrinsic part of our culture and leveraging this nostalgia, we're excited to partner with North Bondi Surf Life Saving for the sixth year to help fundraise forthe cluband support Australian growers. With activities for all mango lovers to participate in, we can't wait to spread the mango madness around Bondi".

The Mess-tival aims to raise funds forNBSLthrough donations during the event. Itwill take place from 8am to 12pm at North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club, Campbell Parade, North Bondi. For more information visit mangoes.net.au
