Kryal Castle, Australia's only medieval adventure park, has planned a host of medieval inspired events and adventures in the coming months to delight visitors of all ages. From thrilling medieval fighting demonstrations complete with armour and swords and horseback archery competitions to an exciting murder mystery night and a romantic medieval inspired Valentine's Day package, Kryal Castle, winner of the Tourist Attraction category at the 2015 Victorian Tourism Awards, has activities in store to entertain the whole family.

Located outside Ballarat and just over an hours' drive from Melbourne, Kryal Castle is the perfect place for a day trip or an overnight adventure.

Some of the medieval highlights at Kryal Castle in the coming months include:

Team Kraken's Return to Kryal Castle, Saturday 13 February

Team Kraken, the Victorian arm of Australian Medieval Combat, will thrill audiences at Kryal Castle with their exciting, expert demonstration fights to be held on the Main Arena.  A group of costumed combatants complete with armour and swords will battle it out and showcase their combined skills of martial arts and swordsmanship that has taken them to medieval competitions throughout Australia and Europe.  Visitors can see Team Kraken on the Main Area at 10:45am, 12:15pm, 1:15pm and 2:15pm on Saturday 13th February.

 

Kryal Castle's Valentine's Day Package, Sunday 14 February

Celebrate the years' most romantic day in medieval style with Kryal Castle's Valentine's Day Package. Lovers can enjoy one nights' accommodation in a King Room with late check out the following day, a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates on arrival and free entry into Kryal Castle on Sunday 14 February. Celebrating 1000 Years of Horsemanship, Saturday 20 February

Military Equitation Australia will visit Kryal Castle to present a captivating medieval mounted archery competition. Expertly trained medieval fighters will don their costumes and mount their steeds to compete in a range of medieval disciplines on the Main Area. These special demonstrations are included in the normal entry fee.

Murder Mystery Night, Saturday 27 February

Visitors can journey into the Castle walls and immerse themselves in the thrills and suspense of Kryal Castle's monthly Murder Mystery nights. The scene is set…. On the night of a royal wedding joining two kingdoms as one, the young bride is found in her chambers, viciously murdered. But who is the killer at large? Tensions are palpable as the rulers of three kingdoms deny responsibility for the tragedy.

Kryal Castle's Murder Mystery nights kick off at 5.45pm and include a three course meal. Drinks are available at bar prices. The Murder Mystery nights are for ages 16 years plus and cost $85 per person. For bookings and more information phone 03 5334 8555

Traditional Archery Tournament, Saturday 5th March

Kryal Castle invites visitors to come along to watch, its 3rd Annual Kryal Castle Traditional Archery Tournament. To be held on the Main Arena, costumed participants will use traditional bows as they do battle for the top prize.
