Melbourne Star For Mother's Day

Attention all Mums - round up the kids and head to the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel in Docklands this Mother's Day, Sunday May 11, and you'll enjoy a ride on Melbourne's newest tourism attraction for free.

It's the perfect day for any Mum and the children to experience a ride on the Southern Hemisphere's only giant observation wheel and take in an unobstructed 360-degree view of Melbourne's CBD, Port Phillip Bay, Flemington Race Track, Queen Victoria Markets and as far as Mount Macedon, Arthur's Sear and the Dandenong Ranges. The family will also learn things about the city and its surroundings they never knew from the colourful Tales of Melbourne storyboards in the pre-boarding area and the informative in-cabin audio.

Or ride at night and enjoy the Melbourne Star's world-class LED light show, while experiencing the changing skyline of Melbourne and its surrounds.

And, just to ensure an extra special occasion, every mother who travels on the Melbourne Star on Mother's Day will receive a $20 voucher to spend at the store of internationally acclaimed French designer Simone Perele, located in Harbour Town Shopping Centre.

The Melbourne Star is 120 metres high, equivalent to a 40-storey building. It is thefirst, more complex, solid steel wheel design to be built in the world to this size.
