Sydney Opera House is ready to entertain your little monsters this September with our biggest ever school holiday program, including award-winning theatre, free activities and a brand new tour just for kids. Its school holiday central at the House!

Following on from our hugely successful The Essential Tour, launched in 2006, we are very excited to introduce Kids Discovery Tours for our smallest fans. Kids will adventure through a selection of our six performance venues and learn about the history and creation of Australia's landmark building and premier performing arts centre. At the end of the tour, all children will receive fun bags to take home with games, treats and discounts on selected children's shows.

The Gruffalo, a staple on children's bookshelves around the world, comes to life in a musical adaption on the Playhouse stage as part of the Kids at the House program. A plucky and imaginative mouse uses his wits to survive when he encounters three hungry predators - a fox, an owl and a snake. This show is a wonderful way to introduce children from as young as 3 years old to the magic of live performance and theatre.

Creative Play Area forms an artistic hub for children in the Western Foyers. It's here that children will have the opportunity to participate in fun and educational activities relating to The Gruffalo. It's free to participate and is a great way to enhance each child's theatre experience. Creative Play Area will be open 9am - 4pm, every day of The Gruffalo season.
