Melbourne Symphony Orchestra presents Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban™ in Concert this November. Due to popular demand, additional concerts have been announced with performances taking place at Plenary, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Thursday 8, Friday 9 and Saturday 10 November.
The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will perform the magical score to Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban live while the entire film plays in high-definition on a huge screen.
John Williams' Oscar-nominated music for the Harry Potter films became a classic, instantly memorable and universally adored. Soaring and evocative motifs depicting mystery, magic and the fight between good and evil are woven into the fabric of these masterful films about the adventures of Harry Potter on his magical journey.
In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry, Ron and Hermione, now teenagers, return for their third year at Hogwarts where they are forced to face Sirius Black, an escaped prisoner who appears to pose a great threat to Harry.
With his best friends close at hand, Harry masters Advanced Magic, crosses the barriers of time, faces a werewolf, overcomes the threats of the soul-sucking Dementors and changes the course of more than one life. The trio visits the wizarding village of Hogsmeade and the Shrieking Shack (the most haunted dwelling in Britain), they learn how to handle a Hippogriff (a half-horse, half-eagle creature) , repel shape-shifting Boggarts and master the art of Divination.
