Meet Anand (Sonny Gill), a 13-year-old boy who is immersed in a fantasy world derived from his encyclopedic obsession with Bollywood films. Anand dreams of escaping the chaos of home life and is forever re-inventing himself as an action hero, gangster, martial arts guru, pop star, or an Indian prince.

Meet his family and you'll begin to understand where the whole problem stems from! Anand is trapped between a self-obsessed, materialistic older sister, Dimple (Chandeep Uppal), an insane genius of a younger brother, Chetan (James Gandhi), a tracksuit wearing showbiz dad, Ramesh (Kulvinder Ghir), and his mother, Shoba (Shaheen Khan), who never leaves him alone. With a family like the Popats, real life is much weirder than fiction.

Episode One: Men In Turbans - Sunday, December 19 at 6.50pm
Anand and his family have moved to a new town and he's desperate to fit in and make friends. He's taken an interest in Holly Saviour (Laura Greenwood), his next door neighbour and is keen to ask her out to see the movie Men In Turbans. After discovering Anand is interested in a girl, his family decide to interfere. While his parents feel they have his best interests in mind, his sister Dimple and brother Chetan have other ideas. Will his family's meddling ways prevent Anand from asking out Holly?
