Australia s newest national triathlon and multisport series, the Challenge Series, is ready to fire up summer, with the series kicking off at Adelaide s famous Glenelg Beach on November 28-30 2008, before touring around the country.

The events are aimed to appeal to everyone s sporting appetite and are set to attract not only energetic kids, but busy mums, stressed executives, pensioners, elite triathletes and even Olympians to the start line.

The three-day events see fun runs scheduled for each Friday, with the weekend incorporating races for junior competitors, an Enticer event for novice athletes, aquathlons (swim/run), as well as sprint, Olympic Distance and elite disciplines for more experienced campaigners.

The Enticer event is a new initiative, providing people with a less intimidating introduction to the sport of triathlon by way of a 400-metre swim, 10km bicycle ride and 2.5km run.

The Olympic Distance races (1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run) across the seven sites will act as qualifying events for the 2009 ITU Triathlon World Championships to be held on the Gold Coast next September.
Hobart hosts the Australian Championships in the Sprint Distance, while Perth doubles as the national titles in the Olympic Distance category.
