Clearing Negative Energy

Dear Fiona,

My room, for sometime now, has had very bad energy in it. I'm a budding witch and have never practiced witchcraft before but I am hoping to start. My mother is skeptical and won't let me burn anything in my room apart from incense and candles. Can you help in any way?

Hi Lizzie,

You are lucky your mum lets you burn candles and incense! I wasn't when I lived at home. My parents thought I'd burn down the house and Dad thought the incense was marijuana! So if you are allowed to do this, great - you can clear the bad energy in no time.

You will need:

Some incense - either Nag Champa or Sandalwood (get it at health food stores or check out my website http://www.fionahorne.com 'The Spellbook' for more suppliers)
A large white feather
4 white candles
A bowl of water with a pinch of salt
4 pieces of quartz crystal (get it at new age supply stores or check out my website http://www.fionahorne.com 'The Spellbook' for more suppliers)

You are going to clear the negative energy by using the sacred elemental energies of air, earth, water and fire.

Do the following rituals one after the other:

Air: Light the incense and using the white feather fan the smoke to the corners of the room as you say: "Holy element of air, with your sacred breeze, release and blow away all negativity."

Earth: Place the crystals in the corners of the room and as you do this say: "Holy element of earth, with your stability, draw away and release all negativity."

Water: Dip your fingers in the water and flick it towards the corners of the room as you say: "Holy element of water, wash away all unclean and release all negativity."

Fire: Light the candles in the corners of the room and say: "Holy element of fire with your sacred flame, burn away all negativity that once laid claim."

Now snuff the candle flames, stand in the centre of the room, and raise your arms and say:

"I dedicate this space to me, I fill it with my energy. So Happiness and Peace shall reign, So Mote it Be in my name (then say your name forcefully three times)."

The spell is done!
