Australia's favourite youth channel, Channel [V] launches a new brand direction for 2015 and ONELOVE's Generik joins the crew, as one of their three fresh new presenters!
This follows Generik's killer backstage Stereosonic special aired by Channel [V] late last year, his hit single -The Weekend' featuring Nicky Van She (smashing the Australian airwaves) and his non-stop party-starter antics, playing every major club around the country!
The new Channel [V] is about music. It gives AAA access to the artists the audience love, with exclusive interviews, music news and unparalleled festival coverage. Also Channel [V] will serve up live shows that go anywhere, anytime plus a whole bunch of new -music lifestyle' content.
It all starts today with a hot new look on air and the announcement of three fresh new faces joining the Channel [V] crew, who are killing it in their respective fields – The Used frontman Bert McCracken, international model Bambi Northwood-Blyth and DJ Generik (Tyson O'Brien). These new presenters will bring their unique experience and expertise to the wide range of youth subcultures represented across the channel. Together with Danny Clayton, Carissa Walford and Marty Smiley, the new line-up has different facets of youth culture covered, keeping the Channel [V] audience across everything they need to know and the places they need to be.
From November 2014 to this day, Generik's 'The Weekend' feat Nicky Van She, has been pumped out via radio & Channel [V] all Summer (as well as being THE official track at Stereosonic – did you catch Generik's behind-the-scenes special at Stereosonic on Channel [V]?). It has seen Generik emerge from the studio with proof positive, that he's a producer to be reckoned with. The fact that -The Weekend' topped the ARIA club chart for five weeks straight, received over 500,000 spins across YouTube and Soundcloud, huge club and radio support worldwide from the likes of Calvin Harris and Steve Angello to every major National Australian Radio station playlisting the hit and you have a track and artist kick-starting weekends everywhere! DJ/Producer & now presenter, Generik will be taking over Australia's airwaves.
Rebecca Batties, Foxtel General Manager for Music and Head of Digital said, 'At Channel [V] we are still very much about the music, however with this new direction we are tuning into the needs of our youth audience and expanding programming to reflect and embrace their lives. The new Channel [V] takes our audience into a world of limitless options as we throw ourselves into the big passions that make youth tick, inspiring them to live a life to remember."
Catch the new look and celebrate on ground at Australia's hottest festivals as they partner in the next month with the biggest youth music events on the Australian calendar.
