Held in The Lounge, Cargo Bar at 6pm on Tuesday, 1st September, the event is in support of the Abhilasha Project, a non-profit organisation dedicated to change in India and throughout the developing world by focusing on education.
Abhilasha, meaning 'hope' in Hindi is what has inspired the theme for this upcoming event and all funds raised will go towards the Abhilasha Project's current project, which focuses on building a new school for underprivileged, handicapped children in Rajnandgaon, India.
Party4Poverty also aims to give hope to the aspiring Australian designers seeking a big break in the cut-throat rag trade industry by providing a stage for them to showcase their talent and by giving them an opportunity to make a dramatic entrance into the fashion world.
Mok Theorem, who has donated a jacket from their latest collection worth $300 for the lucky door prize, will be joined by Kylie Hawkes, Ellen Bartels, Emily Flemming, Serene Aguirre, Lioness28, Amy Lea Taylor, Illyrian Jeans, De vere Designs, and Anastasia Suyanti and the catwalk will be featuring Miss World Australia 2009 Sophie Lavers and other finalists.
