Planet Cook, the hit kids cooking adventure TV series, is set to launch worldwide in a bid to engage and encourage kids around the globe to have fun with cooking whilst learning more about healthy eating and balanced diets.

This natural world adventure developed by Platinum Films for BBC is hosted by popular chef Kevin Woodford. The show will amaze and astound, surprise and delight. It's not about following a recipe, it's about inventing one.

Set on a tropical fantasy island, each episode sees Captain Cook (Kevin Woodford), guide three young Cook Cadets as they create and invent fun food against the clock. Captain Cook provides the culinary skill but relies on Bouma (Dave Benson-Philips), who just happens to be a magical yeti, to add a sprinkling of his own unique magic.

TV personality, Ruby Wax is the voice of super computer, Roxy, whose 'Info-Bites' form the creative themes of individual episodes. Planet Cook reaches Planet Earth at a crucial time for food. Recent concerns over children's and adult's lifestyle choices including food, drink, exercise and our general well being are now at the top of the national and international agenda.

Each recipe in the show has been analysed by independent, qualified nutritionists to fit within the context of a balanced, healthy diet. The recipes are inspired by the natural world - from volcanoes to leaf-eating dinosaurs - giving Captain Cook the inspiration to create delicious dishes like 'Erupting Volcano Surprise' and 'Dinosaur Calzone'.

Planet Cook is an adventure against the clock, set on a fantasy paradise island where bananas grow next to coconuts and talking Venus Fly Traps hang out with burping Clams! The Cook Cadets are specially chosen food explorers who accept the challenges of Captain Cook. Will they make it in time for the Taste Transmission? Let's Cook it!
