Reclink Australia Sports & Fun Program

Reclink Australia Sports & Fun Program

Reclink Australia's Sports & Fun Program kicked off this week giving youth, who may not other have the opportunity, to freely participate in a variety of sports.

Youth aged between 7 – 14 years are welcome to come along and get involved with activities ranging from cricket to tennis and even parkour!

These free and fun classes are taking place every Tuesday from October 15 – November 26 between 4 pm and 5 pm at Springers Leisure Centre, Keysborough.

This is the very first time the program will be delivered across 3 locations including City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey, and the Shire of Cardinia.

After successfully working to develop the Sports & Fun Festival at the Old Cheese Factory in Berwick, Reclink Australia was invited to propose measures for unallocated funding to provide additional opportunities for the community from the Population Health & Wellbeing (Southern Melbourne Area) division of the Department of Health & Human Services, and as a result, the Sports & Fun Program began.

"This program is aimed at creating a fun and safe opportunity to try and learn new sports, the sessions will be delivered by professional coaches that can help to link participants into further opportunities in the local area" says Jason Carter, Reclink Australia Sports Coordinator.

This event provides plenty of opportunities for careers and parents to join in activities too; there will be free equipment giveaways and information available about pathways to other programs and sessions in the local area.

Reclink Australia is a not-for-profit organisation whose aim is to enhance the lives of people experiencing disadvantage or facing significant barriers to participation, through providing new and unique sports and arts opportunities and specialist recreation programs.
