To have and maintain relationships with other people requires a need to love yourself. Not having a feeling of self worth, respect, faith, trust and belief that you are and can be a good reliable, faithful and trustworthy person who others can believe in, would make it difficult to create basic grounds to form a strong, lasting bond with others.
To love yourself does not mean you have to demonstrate egotistical behaviour, but rather it is a way of being more comfortable with who and what you are. To understand this, you would need to sit in a quiet relaxing medative atmosphere, ask your guardian angel to be with you and help you to look at yourself. Try to think about yourself and your friends or people you work or associate with. Even strangers on the street, think about how you mix with them, how you would do things for them, such as passing things to them when asked, picking up something they have dropped, making a cup of coffee, sharing a cake or sweet, voicing your concern when they're not well or sad, offering them a ride etc...Just being there and not doing or saying anything is often enough. Even just thinking about them and hoping they are okay.
All of the aforementioned are acts of love that help you to get along with others, and in turn, with you.
If you can't see yourself in this picture, try not to worry as sometimes it takes time to develop the skills to be a people person. However, you can be, all you need to do is say to yourself, "from now on I will decide to be someone I would like to be and to have others like me."
Sometimes it can be awkward to start with, but you don't have to say anything, just try doing something else which you think would be helpful. Try not to look for gratitude for what you have done. If you expect it and it doesn't come, then you will only become angry. Just knowing what you have done is to establish inside yourself that you have done something good and that is enough. If you do get gratitude, then it's a bonus.
Just as you reach out to open the door for yourself, try doing it for someone else, but remember, don't expect thanks and try to remember to ask your guardian to help you.
May you find your guardian angel, try to love all, things and peace be with you....
