All his life Ribbit (Astin) has felt different from all the other frogs, he hates water and he is terrified of hopping. Ribbit's life changes when he is accidentally hypnotised by a conman or rather -conbat', Deepak (Peters) and tricked into believing that he is actually a human prince trapped in a frog's body.

Hoping to find his purpose in life, Ribbit and his best friend Sandy the flying squirrel (Leigh) embark on a soul-searching adventure deep in the dangerous Amazon Rainforest to discover the truth and his rightful place in the world. With the help of flamboyant toucan Terrence (Curry) and a mission to kiss a human princess, Ribbit soon learns that being himself isn't bad after all and that the love of his life has always been right in front of him.
