San Remo and Phillip Island Arts Trail This Winter

Visitors to Phillip Island this winter can uncover a world of artistic treasures along the San Remo & Phillip Island Winter Arts Trail.  The cultural adventure which showcases works by local artists as it weaves its way through workshops, studios, cafes and retail outlets all the way from San Remo and Newhaven to Churchill Island and Cowes will run from 10 – 19 June and is yet another great reason to visit the island for a day or a weekend this winter.

Local Sculptor, John Carlson has created a piece entitled Kelp which will be on display at San Remo's Goldsmith Gallery while talented glass maker Marlene Abela will showcase her specially designed piece Sea Mist at her Artfusion Gallery.

Local painter Jill Rogers, well known for her paintings reflecting Australian landscapes, will display her beautiful and fitting Rhyll Jetty at the departure point for the breathtaking Phillip Island Helicopters tours. Renowned Cape Woolamai based metal sculptor, DAK, has crafted a piece called Kangaroo Paw which will be on display at Silverwater Resort while Emergent, a stunning sculpture by Bill Binks, will be on show at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.   

Adding to the excitement, art lovers who follow the trail can go into the running to win a piece of Phillip Island, their very own DAK sculpture, to take home. Visitors are invited to pop into the Newhaven or Cowes Visitor Information Centres or any of the participating businesses to pick up a brochure and entry form for all the competition details.
