Exploding from the eye of the universe, it's Sand Pebbles! Hypnotic. Cosmic. Kinetic. Freewheeling. Sand Pebbles return to The Flying Saucer Club stage this December to showcase their latest LP, Pleasure Maps.
"Pleasure Maps The Sand Pebbles sixth album, came out a few weeks back and is a strong contender for local album of the year, melding electronics and psych-rock with aplomb, revealing more nuances with every play... memorable songs with a delightful tendency to stretch out over time, with twisting guitar solos and extended instrumental passages that swagger into the stratosphere." - Neighbourhood Paper
The back-story of the Sand Pebbles is as colourful as the band's music. Hanging out with Jeff Bridges in LA, pulling down screamers at the MCG, writing scripts for television soap operas, even attending high school with the enfant terrible of Internet libertarianism, Julian Assange - it all contributes to the total aesthetic experience that is the Sand Pebbles. Like a novel you can't put down, there always seems to be another intriguing page in the Sand Pebbles story to explore. The Sand Pebbles are Wes Holland (drums), Ben Michael X (guitar, keyboards), Chris Hollow (bass), Andrew Tanner (guitar, vocals) and Tor Larsen( guitar, tambourine, vocals).
Joining Sand Pebbles are The Ocean Party, the Melbourne-by-Wagga-Wagga six-piece, playing songs from their latest critically-acclaimed album, Beauty Point.
