Schools Cook-off Championship at William Angliss Institute

William Angliss Institute is all set to host its Annual Schools Cook-off Championship which will aim to reward the creators of the perfect cupcake.

Run in conjunction with Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, youngsters from across Victoria will be asked to prepare four cupcakes in advance of judging day, which will be held on Thursday 18 March 2010 at the Institute's La Trobe Street campus.

Entrants between the ages of 15 and 18 will put themselves in the running to win an array of fabulous prizes, including a Culinary Career Starter Pack worth $450 and a half day Culinary Experience at the Institute valued at more than $2,000.

The coveted titles up for grabs will include Best Individual Overall Cupcake, Best Class Effort, Best Taste, Best Decorated Cupcake and Best Novelty Design.

The free event gives students and teachers the opportunity to enjoy a day packed with fun and interesting activities such as cookery demonstrations, apprentice information sessions, school tours, spot prizes, awards presentations, foods information session and, of course, the judging of the cupcakes.
