The St Kilda Film Festival, proudly presented and produced by the City of Port Phillip, will screen Australia's top short films with a prize pool totalling over $50,000 worth of cash and in-kind craft awards, including a $10,000 prize for Best Short Film. Accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Festival is an Academy Awards® qualifying event – with award-winning films from St Kilda Film Festival eligible for consideration in the OSCARS® Short Film and Documentary Short Subject Awards.
Filmmakers under 21 are also invited to enter their work in the 2019 Under the Radar Competition, an initiative of the City of Port Phillip's Youth Services division. With successful entrants screening as part of the St Kilda Film Festival, Under the Radar provides an opportunity for young filmmakers to show their work in an internationally recognised film festival, and encourages young filmmakers to pursue their craft.
St Kilda Film Festival will be accepting film submissions via FilmFreeway, the world's #1 submission platform ahead of the 2019 event.
