Now known for its popular, social trend-led events, Melbourne Central has announced an upcoming Star Festival, to be held on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 July, from 5pm - 9pm - providing the perfect winter activity for foodies, fashionistas and social media enthusiasts alike.
Programmed to shine light throughout the precinct, a series of beauty, fashion and food activations will take place within retailers or as bespoke pop-ups in key thoroughfares.
Taking centre stage will be a sparkling light installation across the level two sky void, made all the more magical and shareable with free star diffraction glasses, brought in specially from the United States.
Equipped with laser etched lenses which are activated by direct light-sources, the glasses will allow visitors to quite literally see Melbourne Central transform into a twinkling night sky. A unique vision which is importantly capable of capture via smartphone screens.
Understanding it wouldn't be a trend-led party without the most instagram-worthy space in Melbourne, the festival will also see the launch of the 'Star Room'. The totally Instagrammable space will be filled with light curtains of stars and lined with mirrors to create an immersive star experience.
Star Festival goers looking to tantalise their taste buds will be spoilt for choice within Melbourne Central's pop-up market featuring none other than Bistro Morgan, Cupcake Central, Gingerbread Corner and a unique star-themed fairy floss pop-up.
Craft cocktail company, Melbourne Martini, will also be serving up FREE 'Espresso Star-tinis' at Melbourne Central's pop-up bar on level two - the new go-to starting spot for CBD knock-off drinks, with a splash of world-class retail.
Delivering specifically against fashion-lover needs and on-trend product desires, the pop-up market will also feature star themed accessories created by Glacier Mist, Birdee & Star and Grandma Funk.
Finally, festival goers can get glammed up with complimentary star glitter and face gem applications by the Mecca Maxima team at their pop-up glitter station- the perfect pre-game ahead of the FREE astrology readings.
This event is free and a must-see for all visitors to Melbourne Central. For more information, please visit the Melbourne Central website or the Facebook event.
