Next month, Starlight Children's Foundation and Earth Key Productions will present a unique and moving reality theatre show to celebrate Starlight's 25th year, titled 'Starlight Stories'.
Running for two weeks in Sydney from October 23, Starlight Stories is a new theatre piece that tells the inspirational stories, word-for-word, of families whose lives have been dramatically changed by their child's serious illness, and how Starlight has transformed their experience of hospitalisation and treatment.
Produced by Angus Anderson and directed by Actors Centre Australia creative and founding director, Dean Carey, (the creators of the acclaimed 'Stories from the Wayside' in 2011), the show has been written verbatim based on interviews with eight real Starlight supporters, including parents, volunteers, and those people whose lives are directly affected.
The ensemble cast including Lisa Chappell and Martin Crewes spent time with their real-life subjects, observing their behaviour, conducting in-depth interviews, learning to mirror their mannerisms and reproduce their voices.
