Super Boss Day

Think you're the best boss in the universe? Why not prove it by dressing up as a superhero – and you don't have to take on the world, just the challenge of raising money for children's charity HeartKids.

The first Super Boss Day is fast approaching, and employees can nominate their manager as a secret Superman or Wonder Woman – or your boss can nominate themselves.

On Thursday February 19, 2015, managers will swap their suits for a superhero outfit to raise donations from friends and family.

Why not challenge other departments or offices in your company to join the fancy dress contest? Fundraising can be whatever suits your workplace, from morning tea to a golf day, and donations can be made through the online sponsorship page.

Among those already signed up for Super Boss Day are Norm Hutton (HeartKids Victoria/Tasmania Chief Executive Officer), Mike Brady (Musician, Presenter and Super Boss Day Ambassador), Paul Stoner (Chief Executive Officer, Biggin & Scott Corporate), Russell Cambridge (Director & Auctioneer, Biggin & Scott Richmond), Karen Beard (Regional Manager Melbourne & ACT, People's Choice) and Anita and John Grimbos (Office Manager and Director, Grimbos Surveying).

HeartKids Victoria/Tasmania is a non-profit organisation that provides hope and support to children with Childhood Heart Disease (CHD) and their families, while raising awareness and vital research funding for the chronic disease.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in Australian children under one, and heart defects are the most common birth abnormality in this country, affecting one in 100 babies.

HeartKids developed Super Boss Day after seeing so many children with CHD reflect the courage and resilience of superheroes over the years. Super Boss Day not only raises awareness for HeartKids, but provides a team building environment for colleagues to work together in achieving their fundraising goal whilst supporting children with CHD.
