Swarovski Fashion Week

Swarovski continued to support designers by partnering with talents including Molly Goddard, Halpern, Mary Katrantzou, Paula Knorr, Peter Pilotto and Richard Quinn, who unveiled crystal looks on the runway at London Fashion Week A/W19.

MOLLY GODDARD
This season marks Molly Goddard's first collaboration with Swarovski. Her signature use of traditional hand pleating, smocking and tulle was punctuated with one tunic created entirely from Swarovski Cup Chain. The shimmering crystal strands echo the playfulness at the heart of Goddard's aesthetic. Elsewhere in the collection, argyle sweaters were accessorized with subtle crystal chains.

HALPERN
Michael Halpern's collection drew inspiration from the opulence of the Art Deco movement and the renowned illustrator Erté. Swarovski crystals were mounted on sheer bands of tulle on chokers, giving the illusion of crystals floating around the neck, creating stunning light beams. Halpern commented: "We wanted to use crystal in a different way than we have done in the past. Instead of embroidering a garment, we wanted to have the crystal work as one block of light – there really is no other material besides Swarovski Crystal that can be used for this."

MARY KATRANTZOU
Long-term Swarovski collaborator Mary Katrantzou sent several shimmering crystal looks down the runway. Over 200,000 Hot Fix crystals and Fancy Stones were meticulously applied to creations inspired by the Ancient Greek classical elements.

PETER PILOTTO
Continuing the design duo's journey through décor and design, Peter Pilotto's latest collection drew inspiration from Hungarian Zsolnay ceramics. Soft fluid shapes and sinuous fabrics were hand embellished with Swarovski Hot Fix crystals.

PAULA KNORR
Paula Knorr's collection explored the connection between sportswear and eveningwear. Athletic detailing and fabrics, including Lycra and mesh, were mixed with luxe jersey fabrics. Transparent bodysuits and draped gowns featured Swarovski crystals applied in linear patterns. Knorr commented: "The Swarovski crystals enhance the beauty of the cut and draw attention to the natural lines of the woman's silhouette."

RICHARD QUINN
Richard Quinn showed an Autumn/Winter 2019 collection which featured Emerald and Tanzanite toned Fancy Stones dripping from sleeves and hoods, as well as lavish crystal embellishment over the top of his signature prints. Candy colored stones also shone from accessories including shoes and earrings.
