Runners will begin the 21.1km race at 7:30am and the course will again start and finish at Sydney's Hyde Park.

The start area is located on College Street between St Mary's Cathedral and Hyde Park North.

The finish line follows the Hyde Park Central Walkway past the Archibald fountain.

To give you an indication of how fast the top field can cross the finish line - last year's male winner finished in 65.00 minutes and the first female runner finished in 76:16 minutes.

Entries to this year's race have closed and boast a record field of 10,000.

This year's SMH Half Marathon is extra special, as runners have the opportunity to honour the memory of Kerryn McCann - who won the event a record of for times. 'Running for Kerryn McCann' will allow runners to donate to the McCann family's charity of choice Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA). The women's trophy will also be renamed the 'Kerryn McCann Trophy'

BCNA spokesperson and friend of McCann, Raelene Boyle, will officially start the race.
