Sydney New Year's Eve is the largest and most technologically advanced annual fireworks show in the world featuring 7000 kilograms of explosive devices, including approximately 11,000 shells, 20,000 shooting comets and 100,000 individual pyrotechnic effects fired from barges, city rooftops and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The event features aerial displays, a Harbour of Light Parade, 9.00pm Family Fireworks, the Midnight Finale and the highly-anticipated Bridge Effect.

For a safe and enjoyable 2010 Sydney New Year's Eve:
-Pick a vantage point and be aware that popular areas fill up quickly
-Plan ahead if you're heading to the harbour foreshore and take public transport
-Remember not to take glass to the event and place rubbish into bins provided

Each year the City of Sydney appoints an official charity partner to Sydney New Year's Eve. We work with the charity partner to generate awareness of their valuable work or support their programs.
