Tasty Breakfasts on the GO

Tasty Breakfasts on the GO
Ever had the problem of trying to squeeze in breakfast before rushing to work or getting the kids to school?

We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day but 33%[1] of us either skip it or scrimp on it.

According to leading dietician Kate Di Prima, even if you are on the go, you still need to have a breakfast that includes carbohydrates and iron-rich protein.

"You need to ensure you include a variety of food in your diet to give you the minerals and vitamins you need to sustain you throughout the day. Fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, toast with savoury toppings and nutrition-packed eggs are all popular choices for breakfast on the run," Ms Di Prima said.

Another food, often forgotten at breakfast time, which adds nutritional value and flavour, are fresh herbs and spices. For example, green leafy herbs such as parsley and basil contain antioxidants and are a good source of Vitamin C.

Gourmet Garden, a leading supplier of fresh chopped herbs and spices, recommends a squeeze of fresh chopped flavour from the Gourmet Garden range as one of the fastest ways to add flavour to breakfast on the run.

Some of the most popular choices for breakfast are Parsley, Chives, Spring Onion, Basil and Mint. Gourmet Garden has some tasty breakfast ideas that you can make in less than five minutes.

Try the tips below for a quick and delicious brekkie on the go:
  • Save cooking and washing up time by making an omelette with eggs in the microwave. Crack your eggs into a microwave safe bowl and whisk a squeeze of Gourmet Garden Parsley into eggs for fresh flavour.
