In front of a 500-strong crowd, Keune has presented its biggest hair & fashion gala yet, hosting the Day With Keune at the Hilton Sydney in July.
An invite-only event, the Day With Keune runs parallel to the hair industry's annual expo. It is an intimate & exclusive opportunity for Keune clients to be inspired & invigorated by innovative techniques, product launches & new initiatives.
Featuring three renowned stylists, 12 Australian designers, 13 sponsors & more than 35 models, this year's event reinforced Keune's position as a leading supplier of professional hair cosmetics.
Following a stunning duo aerial hoop act, the audience was enthralled by the styling of local hair & makeup artist, Justin Teague, before being equally entertained by Keune's International Educator, Jeroen Struijlaart, who threw in a few surprise moves from his time on hit TV series, Dancing With The Stars. However it was the international sensation, Ilham Mestour, who stole the show, sharing stories of her work as Naomi Campbell & Doutzen Kroes' stylist, as well as the inspiration behind her countless Vogue covers.
The artists' hair work was complemented by the glamorous & avant garde designs of Zofara, Kathleen Choo, Denisse M Vera, Vanessa Moe, Kara Liu, Emily Colalillo, Natalie & Sarah, Seduce, Everchange, Nomiki Glynatsis Couture, The Mode Collective & Shoes of Prey.
Show Director & Keune Marketing Manager, Frances van der Velden, said the event was a tribute to Keune's impressive international history, its core values & its exciting future potential.
'For years Keune has been known in the industry for its quality colours, especially its lustrous blondes, but what some people didn't know is that Keune pioneered some of the greatest advancements in hair technology & some of the most commonly used products on the market," Ms van der Velden said.
'Keune was the first in the world to launch hair gel, the first to produce hairspray in an aerosol can in Europe, & one of the first manufacturers of the permanent wave, all of which are products used by millions of people each & every day.
'The Day With Keune took us on a trip down memory lane, before building excitement for what's to come."
The Day With Keune is held biennially, with this year marking its sixth show.
