The Deauville takes its name from an enchanting seaside resort in the heart of Normandy known for its elegance and prestige. A popular offering from freestanding bath specialist Victoria + Albert, this bath is imbued with its own sleek style that easily calls to mind the glamour of a holiday in the French countryside.

For all its European sophistication, the Deauville is most notable for its eye-catching hardwood feet. A modern interpretation of the classic clawfoot tub, the strong wooden feet offer a stark contrast to the light, gently curved lines of the tub and create an organic style. The result is beautifully classic but with an updated modern edge. The feet are available in either mahogany or oak and arrive ready for custom finishing.

According to leading luxury bath manufacturer Victoria + Albert, the key to any transitional bathroom design is to achieve a balance between traditional and contemporary features. 'Bathroom design trends are sometimes difficult to define, and often dictated by what design elements are evident in other areas of the house. We often see bathroom trends follow fashion, but the finished product is usually a mixture of different designs from different eras," comments Marketing Manager Jonathan Carter.

Like all Victoria + Albert designs, the Deauville is crafted from QUARRYCAST, a finely ground volcanic limestone mixed with resin. As the stone-rich alternative to both cast iron and acrylic, it is cast in one seamless piece that won't crack or flex. This unique construction is warm to the touch, finished by hand to provide a glossy, naturally white, solid surface that is highly durable and easy to clean.

The Deauville measures just over 175cm long and holds an impressive 277 litres of water. The AUD RRP for the Deauville bath and accompanying wooden feet is $3,434.
