People are expected to come from all over the country on Sunday, May 20 to compete in Australia's largest and most prestigious half marathon, The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon presented by Colonial First State.

The 21.1km one lap course, which saw more than 13,000 people take part, weaves its way around Sydney highlighting spectacular landmarks such as the iconic Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House.

In 2011, the event raised almost $800,000 for more than 500 charities and this year is set to be even bigger. The target has been set at $1 million for more than 600 charities including partner charity Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA).
