The famous annual pilgrimage was on again when Keune Australia and New Zealand hosted its 10th Annual Keune Foundation Ball, raising funds for families whom have a child diagnosed with a life threatening illness. Trapped in a never-ending 'tea part', the Mad as Hatter themed event took place exclusively at The Argyle, an ultimate hotspot nestled in the heart of The Rocks, Sydney. The Ball attracted nearly 1,200 energetic supporters from across Australia and New Zealand on Sunday 10th of June, who helped raise almost $33,000 for families in need.
Hans and Theresa van der Velden, owners of Keune Australia, New Zealand and now Indonesia, established the Foundation 10 years ago as a way of giving back to society. "The Ball was one of the most successful events to date and we can only thank our wonderful clients and generous sponsors for their unwavering support and dedication to the Foundation. These donations ensure we can continue to help ease the financial strain of these families, and for a family-owned business this is the most rewarding and signifcant activites we do each year", Mr van der Velden.
The Keune Foundation has financially assisted nearly 400 Australian families to date, by generously giving away more than half million dollars in donations over the years. All administration/operation costs are covered by Keune, to ensure funds raised directly benefit the families in need. This spectacular, themed extravaganza raises funds through ticket sales, corporate donations, raffle tickets and bids at the silent auction.
The sacred ball spectators fittingly dressed the part in charismatic characters from the modern day classic, and were whisked away into the magical world of Alice... Somwhere in Wonderland. The whimsical night was held over two levels and was filled with colourful champagne, scrumptious munchies, VIP photobooth and quirky perfomances through the night. An invite-only event, the Ball is an oppotunity for Keune's clients to let their hair down and celebrate their business' success, whilst joining forces with Keune to support a worthy cause.
Keune acknowledges the generosity of this year's sponsors and would like to thank the following: The Argyle, Brown Brothers, D,Arenberg, Peter Lehman wines, Hair and Beauty Australia Association, Fly Finch Fly, GWS Giants, Hopscotch Films, Inprint, Thomas Salbo, Juerida Jewellery, Lindt Australia, Luke's Labelling, Pastiche, Real Foods, Revlon, The Castle, Vittoria, White GLow Australia, Bioline Jato and our Keune staff.
In 1922, the wonderful world of Keune was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Today, the name synomymous with elegance and dedication is one of the world's largest hair salon brands, available in more than 80 countires. The family-owned Australia New Zealand counterpart was founded in 1995, under the leadership of Hans and Theresa van der Velden.
Hans and Theresa van der Velden wanted to find a lasting way to give something back to our society, so in 2005, The Keune Foundation was established. The Foundation provides financial assitance to Australian families who experience financal and emotional stress when one of their children is diagnosed with a life threating illness.
The company bares all administrative costs incurred by the Foundation, to ensure that all funds raised are direct to familes in need. Funds are generated through events and activites such as The Keune Foundation's Annual Ball, corporate sponsors, generous public donations and through product sales with 10c from every Tinta COlor tube sold across Australia, donated to the foundation.
