Blast from the past with Thomas Heywood; a tribute to David Lee

On Sunday 24 May, concert organist Thomas Heywood will pay tribute to Melbourne's first city organist David Lee in a special event at the Melbourne Town Hall Grand Organ.

David Lee was born in 1837 in Armagh, Ireland. Arriving in Melbourne in 1864, Lee was appointed as Melbourne's first City Organist in 1877. His weekly recitals at the Melbourne Town Hall were popular for many years.
