It's getting to the pointy end of the season for junior AFL, Rugby, Soccer, Netball, Baseball, Skiing, etc.. GroupTogether, the website that makes it easy for parents to collect money from a group, is releasing its survey of the top 5 gifts for Coach as a helpful guide to parents.
GroupTogether conducted a survey of over 1000 Australian adults who setup group gift collections to see what gifts were bought for him and her. The total gift value for collections for the Coach ranged from $100 to $500 with the average gift value of $350. The top gifts for HER (62%) were wireless headphones and for HIM (73%) were also wireless headphones!
GroupTogether, an online platform that makes it easy for parents to chip in to a group gift helped hundreds of parents set up collections for coaches and managers in 2018. On average 17 parents chip in around $20 each to give a gift worth almost $350.
Ali Linz, Co-Founder, GroupTogether, says: "From the survey feedback it was amazing to find that the number one gift for both Her and Him were wireless headphones! The price point fits perfectly into the average collection size for coaches and managers at $350."
The rest of the gifts were then more divergent between the sexes:
Her
1. Wearable Technology (e.g., wireless headphones)
2. Designer Apparel
3. Pampering
4. Food
5. Experiential gift (e.g., bridge climb)
Him
1. Wearable Technology (e.g., wireless headphones)
2. Sports apparel and gear
3. Alcohol
4. Experiential gift (e.g., sky diving)
5. Other Electronics
GroupTogether was set up by two Sydney Mums who realise that people don't want "more stuff that collects dust". Give one gift instead of 15, there is less packaging and wrapping paper that ends up in the landfill. GroupTogether avoids the awkwardness of chipping in by inviting, collecting and politely reminding parents while at the same time it keeps the graciousness of gift-giving by creating a keepsake card from the team and organising the perfect gift.
It takes one minute to create a link, share it and then everyone can chip in! It's even fee free when collecting for an e-Gift card. Parents are assured of giving the perfect gift because the coach or manager can select the e-Gift card themselves.
Julie Tylman, Co-Founder, GroupTogether concludes: "We're trying to create a seamless gifting experience: easy to collect, even easier for friends to chip in and sign a card and easiest of all to give the perfect gift by letting them choose what they'd like most."
