Forget Valentine's Day; there is a new day to sweep your wife away. This Australia Day, as BBQs are fired up and our national culture celebrated, a group of brave and fit Brisbane blokes will be picking their wives up - or someone else's wife - and RUNNING!

Triple M's Grill Team will stage the inaugural Wife Carrying Championships at the Queensland Government's 2012 Australia Day Festival being held at the Parklands, South Bank from 10am on Thursday 26 January. Based on the incredible annual event in Sonkajarvi, Finland (staged since 1992), The Grill Team's Wife Carrying Championships will be a test of speed, agility and fun!
