The streets of Sydney Olympic Park came alive from December 6th-8th for the first Championship finale of the new generation V8 Supercars. After five years of planning, development and work behind the scenes, the arrival of the new generation made this year's Sydney 500 the most anticipated grand final yet.

This spectacular street race and entertainment festival was a must attend, must see, must experience event for the whole family. The weekend was fuelled with action as the all new era of V8 Supercars manufacturers; Ford, Holden, Nissan and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG took to the race grid for the final time this year to battle for the Championship trophy.

Fans were able to enjoy a variety of event experiences including the hugely popular ARMOR ALL Auto Show, and had the chance to get up close to their favourite teams and drivers in the only Australian indoor paddock.

Once again, kids were in for an awesome experience as Disney Pixar's Cars Truck Tour made its final V8 Supercar stop in Sydney. This year was all-new Fun Zone which included four new worlds of entertainment from Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc. and an expanded Cars zone.

Aspiring young cowgirls and boys loved the colourful Toy Story themed attraction within the Fun Zone, as they tested their roust-about skills in Woody and Jessie's Lasso Challenge. They also got creative in Woody's workshop, and build their own bandit moustache and sheriff badge to take home with them.

The V8 Supercar Championship is the premier motorsport category in Australasia. In 2013 there are 14 Championship events and the non-Championship event at the F1 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne. Two events will be held overseas – in Auckland, New Zealand and in the USA at Circuit of the Americas in Texas. Seven V8 Supercar events feature the Dunlop Series, a separate Championship which supports the development of up-and-coming V8 Supercar drivers. In 2013, V8 Supercars produces its own television content for Australia's Seven Network. Through a network of international telecast partners V8 Supercars was broadcast into 137 countries, a reach approaching 500 million households. 2013 is the first year for the Car of the Future (CO TF). These new cars are lighter, more economical, have increased agility and are highly competitive. The Ford vs. Holden battleground of the last 20 years has been supplemented by new manufacturers and investors in Nissan Motorsport racing four Nissan Altimas and Erebus Motorsport running three Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG V8 Supercars.
