Syfy's "Van Helsing" tells the story of Vanessa Van Helsing, a descendant of Abraham Van Helsing who wakes up from a coma only to find herself in a post-apocalyptic world, three years after an eruption of the Yellowstone Caldera had blanketed the world in ash, blocking out sunlight and allowing vampires to overrun humanity. Jennifer brings to life "Ivory" the former leader of "The Sisterhood," a group of bloodthirsty female vampires. Now a former vampire and categorized as an "Enhanced human," 'Ivory' continues to battle other enemy vampires and find her purpose.
 
Not only a stellar actor, Jennifer is also an accomplished and active martial artist. Having her first degree blackbelt in Taekwondo and working towards her second degree, Jennifer absolutely loves the art of combat, weapons training, and stunts with more than 10 years of training and experience. Jennifer took her years of training and experience and applied it to jobs she worked while pursuing acting, including working security during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, as well as working as a bouncer at bars and clubs.
 
Born and raised in Langley, British Columbia, Jennifer is the daughter of immigrant parents, her mother being from Mexico, and her father hailing from Korea. From a young age, Jennifer embraced her active imagination and love for the arts. At the age of 6 she began taking dance lessons and would go on to do a mix of jazz, ballet, lyrical, and hip-hop, to name a few. By the time Jennifer was 13, she decided to give modeling a try after her older sister started booking gigs. After modeling gigs high school and wanting to expand her career in the industry she began cutting her teeth with background work for film and television. After booking her first background job for the futuristic sci-fi thriller I, ROBOT in the summer of 2003, Jennifer took everything she learned from being on-set to pursue her career as an actor. Once securing an agent, she began booking projects and has since appeared in major television series and films including STAR TREK BEYOND, THE A-TEAM, CW's "Supergirl," and USA's "Colony" to name a few.
