The Veuve Clicquot New Generation Award

The Veuve Clicquot New Generation Award

Veuve Clicquot announced today that Hollywood actress and philanthropist Freida Pinto will attend the annual Veuve Clicquot New Generation Award in Sydney on Tuesday 6th March. In the lead up to International Women's Day, Freida will present a keynote speech at the event.

The Veuve Clicquot New Generation Award recognises the success and vision of young entrepreneurial businesswomen who walk in the footsteps of the trailblazing Madame Clicquot, who took over the reins of the Maison when she was widowed at just 27 years of age.

After her successful debut performance in Slumdog Millionaire, Freida has gone on to feature in numerous films including Michael Winterbottom's Trishna and Rubert Wyatt's Rise of the Planet of the Apes amongst others. She has just completed filming Andy Serkis' Jungle Book, and currently stars in Hulu's The Path alongside Aaron Paul.

Freida joined the philanthropic force in early 2012 focusing on the causes of girls throughout India and all over the world, travelling to Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, the Philippines and India with Plan International to learn about their various programs under the Because I am A Girl initiative. In 2013, she joined the Girl Rising Campaign as their Global Ambassador, and later became the producer of the India campaign.

Freida's work with Plan International and recently, her engagement with Global Citizen has further solidified her commitment to improving the future of women and ending gender discrimination, and through that, Global Poverty.

Freida will be flown to Australia courtesy of Qantas and will be joined at the Award by the 2018 finalists for the Veuve Clicquot New Generation Award: Hayley Bonham, Co-Founder – La Porte Group; Emma Henderson & Victoria Beattie, Co-Founders – The Beach People; Mikaela Jade, Founder & CEO – Indigital and Jane Lu, Founder & CEO – Showpo. The winner will be announced at the event, which will be attended by 150 of Australia's young business leaders.
