Light artists, designers and architects from across Australia are invited to respond to an Expression of Interest (EOI) to deliver creative, immersive and energy-efficient light and sound installations to feature in a nightly sculpture walk during the Vivid Sydney annual festival of light, music and ideas, from 27 May - 13 June 2011.
Co-curated by artistic duo Mary-Anne and Ingo Kyriakou-Bracke, the Vivid Light installations will transform Sydney's iconic harbour-front precinct into an eclectic sensory experience, giving Australian lighting creatives the chance to have their sculptures shown alongside leading international design luminaries.
The theme for Vivid Light 2011 is Fiat Lux - Let there be Light and artists are also expected to consider the use of low-energy lighting techniques, public interaction and immersive artistic design. Vivid Light will be a free public exhibition nightly throughout the Vivid Festival.
