As seen on ABC1, Wallace and Gromit's World Of Invention is and exciting new 6-part series about inventions and inventors from around the globe, with familiar Aardman Animations regulars Wallace and Gromit at the helm.

Wallace and Gromit's World of Invention sees the well-loved animated pair hosting a live action series from the basement of their home where they have built their very own television studio.

Each week the show includes Wallace's 'Inventor of the week' where we concentrate on a particular inventor from around the world; 'Curiosity Corner', where Wallace introduces a particularly strange story from the world of inventions.

Wallace and Gromit explore the wonders of the natural world and look at inventions inspired by Mother Nature. We visit some incredible flying penguins and other elegant marine-inspired robots at Festo in Germany and fly to Malawi, where scientists are developing self-cooling buildings based on the intricate structures of termite mounds.

They explore the mysteries behind man's fascination with flight, from homemade space rockets in Manchester to jetpacks in the UK and planes that don't fly in our 'contraption countdown'. On location in the USA, we explore the most advanced flexible spacesuits being developed by NASA that are designed to allow wearers to perform cartwheels on Mars and in Germany we look at the life of Gustav Mesmer, a man obsessed with flight but whose inner inventor was locked inside his own imagination for years and who finally got to realise his dreams on a bicycle with wings.
