With a new Melbourne city location, participants across Australia and the world are encouraged to register with their friends, family and even four-legged friends
Olivia Newton-John announced today that registrations are now open for the annual 'Wellness Walk and Research Run,' which raises vital funds to support people with cancer.
All over the world participants are encouraged to fundraise and register their loved ones, including their four-legged friends, and join together to support people with cancer.
Set to be the biggest one yet, the 2019 'Wellness Walk and Research Run' on Sunday 6th October, will cater for the whole family, including furry friends. The event will take place at the iconic new venue of the Alexandra Gardens in Melbourne's CBD, allowing walkers and runners to take in the views of both the city and the Yarra River while supporting a very worthwhile cause.
Once again, the 'Wellness Walk and Research Run' will also be a global event, giving walkers across the world the opportunity to raise vital funds, support Olivia and people with cancer. Last year our global supporters strolled through Central Park New York, rallied together in Paris and stood strong in Antwerp, Belgium.
"With so many people impacted by cancer we are finding ways to show our support and do something positive to help. My own experience has driven me to help others going through the same journey," said Olivia Newton-John.
"That's why I am asking everyone to join me and register and fundraise for this year's Wellness Walk and Research Run. If you can't be with me in Melbourne's Alexandra Gardens on Sunday 6 October, you can still show your support by registering from wherever you are in the world as a global walker. Together we will win over cancer," she said.
Olivia will once again join the participants in Melbourne for the 5km walk, 5km run or 10km run. Walkers and runners of all fitness levels are encouraged to come along and show their support for the cause and enjoy the events and entertainment before and after the walk/run.
Now in its 7th year, the 'Wellness Walk and Research Run' helps fund cancer research breakthroughs and provide access to world-leading wellness and support care programs within the ONJ Centre. These programs give patients hope, and help them and their families during cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
The ONJ Centre is committed to making a difference on the lives of those with cancer. They are dedicated to staying at the forefront of treatment, wellness and research to support patients and their families. Funds raised at the event will support the ONJ Centre to continue making a difference. Registrations for the 2019 Wellness Walk and Research Run are now open.
