There's a general feeling today that you want to express. What should you wear today to do that? Well if you follow colour therapy, there's some hidden and some not so hidden meanings behind the colour choice in clothing for the day. Have fun and get a little playful with your dressing moods. Read further for the general consensus on what these colours may be saying about you and how you feel.

Blue – Calm and Collected
Today, you may feel the need to take it a little easier. More restful. You may have had a long week, pushing yourself to the limits.
Wear this colour when you want to be treated -gently'. The colour blue expresses calmness and comfort.
It represents being restful, and is said to lower blood pressure, improve sleep and reduce pain.
The colour blue reminds me of calm seas, or clear blue skies.
Fashion consultants say Blue conveys the message that you are a loyal person, so it may be a great colour to wear to that next job interview.
Males tend to gravitate to this colour, and why not? it represents loyalty, strength, wisdom and trust.

Red – Confident and Sensual
So it's the big day, you've got a really big job interview that's got you feeling very nervous, or maybe a difficult meeting, what should you wear to portray confidence?
Why Red of course. Red represent self empowerment and in other settings sensuality. It is a strong & powerful colour, standing out when amongst the rest. Look at it as a statement colour. Wear it as your main piece of clothing to stand out, but you can also use accents of it just to remind you what it represents. Red is said to boost self esteem.

We also wear red when we're in love say during valentines, or maybe on a first date, it exudes romanticism and sensuality as explained earlier.
Alternatively, red also has cultural significance in China. It symbolizes good fortune and joy. While living in the Philippines, I had a lot of friends of Chinese heritage. Whenever I went to one of their family celebrations, everyone would wear red.

Green – Down to earth and Soul
Feeling anxious? Want to start anew?
Green is thought to be the most powerful healing colour. Wear something green today if you want to feel more calm, reduce anxiety & stress or ill health. Spiritualists believe it can accelerate the healing process.

Many people see the colour green as representing new beginnings. Like spring time. Wear green when you feel you want to have a fresh start that day in something maybe work, a new invigorating outlook at tackling those exams or maybe just a start to that new years resolution.

Yellow – Sunshine and Happiness
My favourite colour! Feeling a need for that burst of sunshine? Ray of sunlight?

Yellow promotes clear thinking, self control, optimism, inner strength and helps to resolve unaddressed emotions and feelings. You can wear it anytime. Even at night. I know that sounds a bit out of place. But I have and it's amazing. Be a little different.
Any shade of yellow or maybe gold is said to represent happiness, and will help cheer up any event. Like the sun, when you wear yellow, you exude light and warmth.

Orange – Energetic and Bubbly
Feeling a little down? Want to get back that little jump in your stride?
Orange is an -energy- colour. Wear it when you want to lift your spirits as it is said to stimulate emotional, physical and sexual energy (according to chakra readings).
I wear the colour orange when I want to write a fun new song. Which is cool, since I never noticed that I did that until I looked back through old photo albums. Orange, like the fruit represents something sweet tasting, juicy, fresh. You can feel playful, daring.

Some people find Orange too strong of a colour, and not everyone can wear it. Try spicing up an outfit with orange accents, a large bangle, a nice scarf or maybe a funky orange jacket to be just a little quirky.

Turquoise – Accented Freshness
How about some beautiful Turquoise jewellery today? By wearing turquoise jewellery you can add a feeling of freshness and vitality to an outfit.
Turquoise represent emotional resistance, immunity and if you believe it, will protect you from the influences and demands of others.

Violet Purple – Unique and Different
Wanting to express your individual uniqueness? Add a bit of that -special' quality to your outfit? Try donning something purple/violet on today. Like red, these are statement colours. Wear them when you want to feel noticed, or couldn't care less about what everyone else thinks, wearing out of the feeling to stop conforming to what everyone else says you should do or wear.
Violets and Purples are very feminine colours too. Wear it when you want to feel a little girly and flirty.

Pink – Feminine and Flirty
One of the colours that just screams femininity.
What do you think of when you hear the colour pink? Probably instantly you see a baby girl's room painted pink, or little girls with pink hair ties in their hair.

Not just being a little girly & flirty, pink also conveys compassion and open heart. Guys can wear pink too. My brother-in-law looks great in a pink polo. I once had a classmate who wore pink to school, he was a pretty masculine guy too (with muscles that had all the girls going gaga for him) but I believe pink made him more approachable and sort of softened him, like the colour represents, maybe seem more capable of loving others and open.

Feel pretty in pink as the saying goes, with pastel coloured dresses, cardigans, or maybe in your hair with some clips.

Black – Classic and Chic
While I think Black can be the bomb, I mean its the token fashion colour in our closets that pretty much goes with everything. As the colour in general denotes, it can be quite a depressing colour. When do you wear black? Maybe first thoughts are at a funeral, or when you've gained a little bit of tub tub in the lower half of your body and want to look a little slimmer.

Some critics say that when you wear black, you want to blend in. Which in a way makes sense, everyone has something black in the closet. The mini black dress, or that black cardigan that you could wear with anything at any event. They say we wear black when we don't want to stand out.

However, when you wear black with another -power' colour, it can accent it in a way to really stand out. Think power suits of powerful lawyers, elegant black dresses of the uptown socialite, black can also represent class and wealth when accented accordingly.

White – Pure and Clean
Symbolizing the start of something new, light reflections, innocence, purity, cleanliness, untainted, neutrality…the list goes on. White is a somewhat -free' colour, it represents a freshness about it.
We wear it as a bride which in depth thoughts why do brides wear white? originally to show innocence and purity, -virginal'.
Doctors and nurses wear it to imply cleanliness, sterility.
We also wear it during summer, you've probably seen those fashion campaigns in summer of beautiful models wearing white bikinis, summery flow dresses…White can pretty much go with anything in your closet.
