Make 2008 Great
The start of a new year can be a wonderful opportunity for change, new beginnings and goal-setting. Most of us have had the familiar experience of making New Year's Resolutions in the buzz of welcoming in the New Year.
Do any of these New Year's Resolutions sound familiar?

Get finances in order
Earn more
How are you tracking with your resolutions so far? It doesn't matter what your resolution is or even how big it is, if you can get clear about what is important for 2008 and acknowledge what you really, truly want to create this year then you can get started right now to make it happen!
At ShapeShifters we say "start small, dream big" and we believe this is the first step in creating what you want. In essence, getting clear about what you want is starting small and dreaming big is imagining the possibility of what you can create.
Firstly, congratulations on everything you have achieved in 2007. One of the bestways to set yourself up for a great year in 2008 is to acknowledge and celebrateyour successes of the past year.
If you haven't prepared for 2008 as yet you may find it useful to reflect on all of your accomplishments in 2007 and acknowledge yourself for them. You could start by scheduling some time to list everything you achieved personally and professionally, including how what strengths and skills enabled you to accomplish these goals. Don't forget to take time out to celebrate and think of a way to reward yourself.
Ask yourself: What were your greatest successes in the important areas of your life? Which accomplishments are you most proud of in each area - health, finance, relationships, career or business? Did you meet or exceed your goals?
Next you could reflect on the five most important things you learned in 2007.What do you know now that you didn't know in 2007? These lessons can be the result of positive or negative experiences. How can you now use your 'lessons learned' to get further ahead in 2008.
The next step is to brainstorm what you would like to accomplish or change about your life in 2008 and beyond. This could include goals you didn't achieve in the previous twelve months.
Now that you have your list of goals for 2008 visualise it's this time next year and your life is exactly how you want it to be. You have total balance and you are truly happy in all the areas of your life. What does it look like? What are you doing? What have you achieved with your health, your career, your business, your finances, your relationships? Write it all down. Did you know that 75% of what we write down happens?
Now write down all the reasons why you must achieve these things. Now look atThe reasons why and choose the three areas that stand out to you as having themost compelling reasons.
Then, make a plan - create short term and long term goals that will bring youcloser to the vision you have created for 2008. Now, set a major goal in each ofthe three areas you have chosen to focus on. Choose one action in each area thatyou can commit to carrying out in the next 24-48 hours and choose three actionsin each area you can commit to carrying out in the next week. If you email us you can request a 5 steps to getting what you want workbook to complete the actions outlined in this article.
It's not too late to plan for the year ahead if you haven't already. Know that you can achieve what it is you truly desire if you take these steps, get clear - make a plan - take action! We are here to support you to work out what you want and to challenge and guide you to get it.
