STAR WARS: Where Science Meets Imagination
The science and fantasy behind the STAR WARS phenomenon will take centre stage in a new exhibition opening at Scienceworks. STAR WARS: Where Science Meets Imagination features more than 80 costumes, interactive exhibits, models and props from all six STAR WARS movies. Developed by the Museum of Science, Boston, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Ltd., STAR WARS: Where Science Meets Imagination is the first exhibition to showcase costumes and props from all six STAR WARS movies while exploring cutting-edge research and modern technologies that could one day make the fantasy world of STAR WARS a reality.

Earth Quest - From Outer Space to Inner Earth
Take off on an intergalactic journey from the outer limits of the solar system all the way to the very centre of the Earth. Learn about our fascinating planet through more than 30 interactive exhibits ranging from astronomy, geology, geography, environmental science to biology. This exciting exhibition includes the Cranbourne Meteorite Number 13, free Earth Quest Experiment Zone workshops and a special mineral specimen display.

Winning sky photos: the David Malin Awards
Some of the most spectacular photographic images of the Australian night sky will be on display as part of this touring exhibition. The display features the winners and selected entries from the annual photography competition named after the world-renowned astrophotographer and competition judge Dr David Malin. Entries are judged not only for their technical skill but also their ability to capture the beauty of the sky and the intrinsic interest of astronomy. The images on display range from spectacular shots of the moon and a lunar eclipse, to constellations and nebula, star trails and the Milky Way.

Mystery Cornish Fishing Lugger Display
See a model of the original Mystery fishing lugger and commemorate the voyage from Cornwall, UK to Melbourne in 1854/1855. The voyage will be retraced by a yachtsman called Peter Goss in a replica of the original boat, named Spirit of Mystery. The 37ft wooden lugger is due to set sail this October, following in the wake of seven Cornishmen who made a heroic journey from Newlyn to Australia more than 150 years ago. The Spirit of Mystery has no engine and navigation will be by the stars and sun. The voyage is due to end in Williamstown in early 2009.

Imagination Factory Invent and Play
Discover how simple machines can be used to create ingenious inventions. Investigate basic mechanical tools and find out how we use gears, levers, pulleys and cams in everyday life. With dozens of hands-on interactive exhibits, this exhibition will have the gears of your mind spinning with new ways to think about the mechanical world around you.
