Gershwin Room - Friday 19th Feb
Applecore Festival - Saturday 20th Feb

David released his latest album 'Little Murders' in October last year and since then people have been really quite impressed by it. The first single 'The Good Times (Keep Following Me Around)' received a whole bunch of airplay and the video, directed by long time collaborator Andrew Lancaster, has been attracting a lot of attention (and a little bit of controversy).

Spoonful: Straight Out The Gate Album Launch

Venue:Penny Black: 420 Sydney Road, Brunswick
Date:'Saturday 20th February'
Time:7-9pm
Melbourne band Spoonful are set to release their third album 'Straight Out The Gate' in February 2010. The record captures Spoonfuls love of the body moving, vocally tense styling of Soul, the insistent beats of electric Rhythm and Blues and the good time shenanigans of Rock and Roll. It is the finest example of their musical pursuits to date, and it's a whole lot of fun.

Mei Lai

Venue:The Evelyn, Brunswick St, Fitzroy
Date:'Thurs Feb 18th'
Time:8pm
Fee:$10
With tales spun between two homes in the desert and the city, Mei Lai Swan is taking her place amongst the nation's chanteuses for her finely crafted avant-indie-pop, built on cello, loops, multi-instrumentalism, and the occasional electronica.

Wedding Day is the first taste from her forthcoming debut album due for release later this year. Produced by Jake Savona (Mista Savona), it is a wry take on the heady rush of falling in love that plunges you into the blind belief of the fairytale wedding, that unfortunately lacks the fairytale ending... Pulsating electro beats, with a dancehall breakdown and changes that complement its sardonic lyrics, Wedding Day pulls on the heartstrings in quite a different way.

Date:'Wednesday March 3rd, 17th, 24th and 31st '
Fee:$15 at the door
Booking:03 9639 8770
After a smashing debut at The Toff in January, Jade is back for another look in March, promising more exciting new music for your listening and dancing pleasure. Jade fell in love with The Toff as a venue and is planning to move in for the month. Wednesday nights have always been cool but will now be that much better with Jade presenting a stack of brand new original songs from her highly anticipated, soon to be finished third album. Jade may only be little, but get ready for her to capsize you with a whole new sound, not to mention her live band who will blow your brains out. The high energy show is quirky, fun and soulful, and sees Jade making a real departure from anything you've heard from her before. Be sure to get over the midweek hump in March at the Toff - and as a special treat, the incredible soul sounds of Electric Empire will be playing support.
