Hungry Beast: Social Networking Privacy Survey

Flying in the face of popular perception about privacy online, the vast majority of Australians who use social networking sites do adjust their privacy settings appropriately, according to a new, nationwide survey commissioned by ABC-TV program Hungry Beast.

The Hungry Beast survey was conducted in March 2011 by one of Australia's leading research companies, McNair Ingenuity Research. It asked a range of questions about issues relating to privacy on social networking sites and the Internet. The survey polled one thousand people, across all states and territories, and was demographically balanced to represent the population of Australia.

Insight returns: Iran

Iran insists its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, but Israel and its allies think otherwise. And tension is escalating.

The United States is tightening sanctions, a move supported by Australia. The European Union has also agreed to ban Iranian oil imports and freeze the assets of Iran's central bank, hoping to push them back into negotiations.

But Iran claims the sanctions will have no effect, calling them 'psychological warfare'.

Should diplomacy fail, the U.S. and Israel have not ruled out military action, and Iran has warned of retaliation if an attack went ahead.
