An inspiring family film that proves it's what's on the inside that counts!
Welcome to Granger, Texas, population 1299. This sleepy town is home to precocious 12 year old Toby Wilson (Jonathon Lipnicki from "Jerry Magure") and your starting point for a most remarkable summer adventure.
The circus has come to town and with it arrives Zachary Beaver, a legend in his own lunchtime and the proclaimed "fattest boy in the world". Seeing beyond the gimmicky side-show act that has grown around Zachary, Toby and his buddy Cal, befriend the circus performer and discover the human behind the headlines. The boys decide their new friend needs a life away from the circus, but his greedy and overbearing guardian, "The Wizard", has other ideas about that. Through tragedy, triumph and causing a lot of trouble, they learn that you can't always judge a book by its cover and you certainly can't judge a friend by what's on the outside.
Based on the best selling novel by Kimberly Willis Holt and featuring a stellar cast including Eric Stoltz and Jane Krakaowski as Toby's parents, this is a poignant, bittersweet tale of acceptance, loss, faith and courage.... and it shows just how far two boys will go to help a friend.
