ACMI invites you to explore the museum like never before at its first ever sleepover event – A Grand Night In – in celebration of Wallace & Gromit and Friends: The Magic of Aardman.
Visitors will explore the Wallace & Gromit and Friends exhibition with an exclusive and magical torchlight tour. The acclaimed exhibition takes audiences behind the scenes of more than forty years of extraordinary Claymation productions including beloved film and TV as Shaun the Sheep and Chicken Run.
The sleepover includes an opportunity for visitors to get their hands dirty crafting a short Claymation masterpiece, inspired by the work of Aardman.
Visitors will join new new-found friends for a delicious pizza dinner and watch classic adventures of Shaun, Wallace, Gromit and the mischievous Feathers McGraw on the giant Lightwell screen.
As night falls, visitors roll out their sleeping bags for an unforgettable summers evening sleeping next to the spectacular 5-metre tall ship from The Pirates! Band of Misfits – the largest model Aardman has ever made.
Sleepover guests will wake up to a scrumptious breakfast, freshly prepared by the ACMI Café and Bar, accompanied by more animated escapades by the talented team at Aardman Studios.
ACMI's Wallace & Gromit and Friends: The Magic of Aardman exhibition, extended until 29 January 2018, boasts more than 350 objects including original sketchbooks, concept drawings and storyboards, and over 50 intricate, handmade set pieces such as Wallace's Cracking Contraptions and Gromit's famous vegetable garden, the flying machine from Chicken Run and the spectacular 5-metre tall ship from The Pirates! Band of Misfits. Exclusive to ACMI will be additional artworks from the studio's forthcoming feature film Early Man due for release in 2018.
