ACMI is thrilled to announce that Virginia Trioli, co-host of ABC TV's News Breakfast, will be at ACMI Cinemas to host the event -In Conversation with Peter Greste' via Skype, following the 6pm screening of Clash on Thursday 6 April.
A highly regarded journalist and correspondent whose reporting credits include the BBC, Reuters and CNN, Greste was arrested by Egyptian authorities in December 2013 while reporting for Al Jazeera English. He served 400 days in an Egyptian prison before his release in February 2015.
Clash, a political thriller set in Cairo's summer of 2013 – two years after the Egyptian revolution as pro-Islamist president Mohamed Morsi is deposed by the Egyptian Armed Forces led by General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi – is the latest film from Egyptian director Mohamed Diab (Cairo 678).
Clash screens exclusively at ACMI Cinemas from Thursday 30 March. Tickets are on sale now.
